Would be cool to see a migrationscript to install a widget 🙂

    Hi Robert,
I’m trying this widget but doesn’t work so far. The widget is a banner on cms home page / main content area
and I would like to dispay at the bottom. I create the static block with the bunner but only show up on the top of main content area.
Any idea how to sort it out?
the website adress is only for test.
    Thank you

Perfect. Thanks a lot Robert for this one another much helpful article regarding static blocks.

I tried this with Magento C.E. to remove my static block widget from the right column and i used the code below and it works like a cake

This is great! I got it to work, however I have a question, if I may:

The widget that I have works and is great, I have it at the main page, after the products, however it doesnt span the entire main area per se. It is currently setup with two columns, the attributes on the left and the products on the right. It only attaches itself to the right column.

What I want to happen is have it span the entire width of the main content area. Have it as wide as the header/banner. I tried setting the block reference to footer and the sort order as 1, but then it doesnt show.

Any advise how to do this?

    Thanks for the great tip!

Response to the first question thats now a few years old. The easiest way to remove your image from only your home page would be too assign the image a id or class then use CSS and .cms-home .headerimage {display:none;} to hide it from the the home page etc.

Is there anyone who solved the mystery of magento widget’s sort order issue. Please help me to figure out this.
